From My Sanctuary to Yours
I’m Kirsten, Principal Designer and Owner of The Lost Sanctuary, LLC.
The creation of The Lost Sanctuary began on a cold, foggy morning—with a favorite sweater, an artisan coffee mug in hand, and a vision to create a space for anyone who feels lost or wants, metaphorically, to “get lost” in a sanctuary that is safe, cozy, and nurturing. A space to remember who you are—and who you are becoming.
Aesthetics have been one of the strongest dominating factors in how I feel, work, play and sleep since early childhood. It is my mission to help others find their own safe haven and inner sanctum, as I continue cultivating mine, in a supportive community of like-minded individuals. I have a background in residential planning, furniture and accessory design and sales, paint and décor selection, and I have custom designed unique, one-of-a-kind pieces of solid wood furniture.
Beyond designing spaces for new construction, renovations and life changes, my clients over the years have also provided me with extensive experience working with real families with real problems and conflicts, decision paralysis, laziness, procrastination, resistance to change, self-sabotage, ADHD, divorce and blending of households.
I love working with others to envision and breathe into existence, new ideas and ways of living and functioning that help to break old habits and build new habits of gratitude and grace. When an idea takes hold in my mind’s eye, I’m driven to pursue the outcome. I enjoy learning and exploring, forever asking “what if…” and “why not…” so I may develop my own way forward, often hands-on and always with extreme curiosity! I believe transforming our personal spaces is an artform and gives freedom to the soul, expressing itself, unencumbered and uninhibited.
In addition to organizing, decluttering and designing spaces, I enjoy creating original pieces of artwork, making limited, handcrafted items and writing about anything that sparks magic and passion within. This multi-faceted approach allows me to blend my creativity with practicality and thus, bring my offer to a wider audience.
